Our person-centred approach to high-quality care

Priscilla Wakefield House provides specialist care and support to older people living with dementia and their families. We offer long-term residential care for those who need daily assistance, palliative care for those nearing the end of their life, or shorter-term daycare to enable carers to take breaks safe in the knowledge that we offer excellent care and facilities. Our specialist carers and nurses have all undertaken extensive training and assessment to ensure that we are able to offer truly outstanding dementia care.

Our specialist nursing staff work hard to ensure that the medical and health needs of our residents are met, from wound care and administering medication, to palliative care. The team is supported by local partnerships with GPs, opticians, dieticians, dentists and other health care professionals.

Younger adults with dementia

A younger person with dementia is a term that anyone diagnosed with dementia under the age of 65. People also use the terms’ early onset dementia ‘, ‘young onset dementia’, or ‘working age dementia ‘. Early onset dementia is likely to generate a multitude of needs requiring specialist responses. Our team is trained in dealing with people with dementia, helping to ensure that every resident is supported to live life to the full, whatever their age.
