Songs & Smiles – 10 December 2024
Our residents were excited to welcome our young guests and their parents/ guardians for our weekly Songs & Smiles session. It was heartwarming to see all connecting and enjoying one another’s company. There are many benefits to intergenerational initiatives including providing opportunities for children to learn from and connect with an older generation, improving youngsters’ “pro-social behaviours” of helping, sharing and cooperating. It also gives older people a sense of purpose and improves their social outcomes and changes community perceptions, helping seniors and the ageing process to be viewed in a positive light.
