The Alexandra Palace Creative Learning Team are launching an exciting new project engaging residents of care homes and people who are living with dementia across Haringey. Working with artist Abigail Hirsch, the team have developed an ‘Ally Pally Themed Sensory Suitcase’ to take into care homes and the community and engage person and carer in reminiscence, discussion and creative and cognitive activities.
On 27th & 28th June we were delighted to welcome the first volunteers facilitating the Sensory Suitcase Project. Our residents really enjoyed learning about the adventures of Dolly Shepherd and her amazing story of becoming a parachutist and exploring an array of fascinating items.
We are looking forward to monthly visits from volunteers to engage more of our residents.
