Haringey in Bloom is an annual gardening competition that celebrates creative, sustainable and beautiful green spaces.

In Bloom brings communities, local businesses and the council together and celebrates how we shape our local spaces. The award categories this year included private front and back gardens; ‘mini marvels’ like window boxes and veg plots along with the shared spaces tended by community groups, school children and businesses. All of them brighten up our streets, support nature – and bring people together too.

Mavis, wellbeing coordinator on Havisham & Pickwick entered our PWH veg plot and we were overjoyed to receive the bronze award in this category. Mavis invited, Shailesh, maintenance assistant, and our residents Emily and Teresa to join her at the awards ceremony in recognition of their invaluable contribution to our success!

The certificates and prizes were awarded by Cllr Emily Arkell, Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure, and Cllr Sheila Peacock at a special awards ceremony held at Sunshine Garden Centre.
